Hashemites

Hashemites
The Hashemites are a royal Arabian family that supported Great Britain in World War I and were rewarded by being placed on the throne of several newly created Arab states carved out of the ruins of the Ottoman Empire. Faisal I eventually became king of Iraq and thus ruled over the Iraqi Kurds. The Hashemites in Iraq were overthrown in a bloody coup led by General Abdul Karim Kassem on 14 July 1958. HAWRAMI.
